How to reduce the background ?
- hadronic interactions and photoproduction of light mesons occur in the target material and
create fake charm decay vertices
- E687: studies demonstrated that cutting out decay vertices that occur
in the target material suppress the Bkg source due to the hadronic
- E831: to improve the number of decays that occur outside the target material
a segmented target has been adopted
…besides, this request reduced the Bkg source due to photoproduction.
This Bkg source produces fake scalar states on the Dalitz Plot
